Our Bureau

MR V.A. JOSEPH

Coimbatore, March 1

South Indian Bank is in the process of improving its geographical reach by opening branches in the hitherto un-represented pockets.

The bank recently established its presence in Madhya Pradesh by setting up its first branch in the State at Indore. It is all set to spread its reach in Uttar Pradesh and Orissa very soon.

`We will be opening branches in Lucknow and Bhuvaneswar this month," its Chairman and CEO, Mr V.A. Joseph, said and added that the bank had also applied for licenses for opening branches in Uttaranchal, Assam and Jharkhand. It is contemplating to set up a branch at Jammu. The proposed expansion is expected to take its total branch network from 434 to 450 by this fiscal-end.
