`Duty on software disappointing'

Coimbatore, March 1

Niraj Kaushik, Country Manager, Trend Micro India, has expressed disappointment over the imposition of the 8 per cent excise duty on packaged software. This imposition, he said, would increase the price of the legal software.

`Software downloads from the Net would however come for free,' he said.
