Groundnut oil flares up

Groundnut oil flared up further on the oil and oilseeds market on Thursday on persistent demand from retailers amidst poor supply.

Castor oil commercial and castorseeds bold Madras edged up on mild industrial demand. Groundnut oil hardened by Rs 7 to Rs 445, while imported RBD palmolein ruled steady at Rs 384. In the non-edible section, castor oil commercial and castorseeds bold Madras inched up to Rs 333 and Rs 1,515 respectively from Rs 331 and Rs 1,505.

In the futures market, castorseeds April contract closed at Rs 1,642 as against Rs 1,658.
