Web site on bird flu

Our Bureau

Thiruvananthapuram, March 2

Mercer Human Resources Consulting has launched a dedicated Web site to serve as an information resource for businesses that want to prepare for a potential bird flu pandemic. The H5N1 bird flu virus is not easily transmitted from poultry to humans. However, experts fear that the virus could change and gain the ability to infect humans efficiently, paving the way for a pandemic. The Web site by Mercer is intended for companies who wish to take no chances and want to ensure that their business processes continue uninterrupted even if the unthinkable happens. The Web site, www.mercerhr.com/avianflu, currently has a white paper on how a potential avian flu pandemic could affect organisations.
