Witness India centre to be APAC hub

Our Bureau

Bangalore , March 3

The US-based Witness Systems announced that its Indian centre would be hub for its business in entire Asia Pacific abd Caribbean region.

The company is investing an undisclosed amount in research and development, support, and partners. The company has partnered with Nortel, Avaya and Cisco. "Oracle, Siebel and IBM will be future partners," said Mr Nick Discombe, President and Chief Operating Officer, Witness Systems, speaking to Business Line.

The company is now targeting the mid-market segment in the country, hoping to increase volume sales of Impact 360.

Umbrella brand

Impact 360 is an umbrella brand for a suite of workforce management software and an IP migration software module, explained Mr Discombe.

"This software converts an analogue legacy telecom infrastructure (TDM systems) to an IP (internet protocol)-based system. Hence, organisations can benefit from a digital IP infrastructure, with cost-effective applications such as voice-over-IP (VoIP). The alternative is a fork-lift upgrade of hardware which proves costly," he added.

"Indian companies aggressively leverage technology to drive business. We can use this knowledge of application of our products. India is pre-innovative and has a non-traditional market which we will leverage," he said.
