Ahmedabad , March 3

The National Multi-Commodity Exchange (NMCE) is launching futures trading in cumin seed and psyllium husk from Saturday.

The Ahmedabad-based exchange will launch futures in cumin seeds in lots of three tonnes and 10.125 tonnes in the case of psyllium husk with Unjha being designated as the delivery base centre.

"Based on feedback from markets, we have decided to start futures in these two commodities. Cumin seed is the second most important spice after pepper and psyllium husk is the key commodity traded at Unjha," according to the Managing Director of NMCE, Mr Kailash Gupta.

NMCE will kick off the trading at a ceremony at the Unjha agricultural produce marketing yard on Saturday, Mr Gupta said.
