Rubber Lacklustre trading hits spot rubber Our Correspondent
Kottayam , March 3 Spot rubber prices softened on Friday. The covering groups and purchase agents appeared to be confused by the negative attitude of the tyre sector, while the transactions declined to a low key. The prices moved down without any notable offers from dealers and growers. Sheet rubber declined to Rs 80.75 from Rs 81 a kg at Kottayam and Kochi. Futures depressed The r
ubber futures continued to remain depressed on the NMCE. The March delivery contract was quoted at Rs 80.60 (Rs 81.31), April at Rs 83.48 (Rs 84.11), May at Rs 85.35 (Rs 86.15) and June contract at Rs 87.23 (Rs 87.91) per kg for RSS 4. The March contract for RSS 4 moved down to Rs 81.22 a kg from Rs 81.55 a kg on MCX.The April futures for RSS 3 declined to 251.7 Yen (Rs 95.99) from 252.4 Yen a kg at TOCOM. The grade improved to Rs 95.08 from Rs 94.24 a kg at Bangkok spot. Physical prices a kg were: RSS-4: Rs 80.75 (Rs 81); RSS-5: Rs 79.75(Rs 80); ungraded: Rs 78.75(Rs 79); ISNR 20: Rs 79.50 (Rs 80) and latex 60 per cent (per litre): Rs 58 (Rs 58).
