Awards for tobacco farmers

Hyderabad, March 3

The Andhra Pradesh Minister for Agriculture and Civil Supplies, Mr N. Raghuveera Reddy, will present the Tobacco Farmers' awards to felicitate 14 outstanding tobacco farmers from Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka on March 5. The awards were instituted by the Tobacco Institute of India (TII) in 1999 to acknowledge and facilitate the continuing commitment and progressive agricultural practices being adopted by the flue-cured Virginia (FCV) tobacco farmers. The TII represents tobacco farmers, exporters, manufacturers, traders, and ancillaries of the cigarettes segment of the tobacco industry, a release said.
