All the stores would focus on their core competency, which is in books and music, he said. Currently, the Bangalore store experiences a footfall of 3,000 to 5,000 a day on average he said, while the store in Spencer Plaza, Chennai, has a footfall of about 5,000 a day and 15,000 on weekends. He expects that the store in Chennai Citi Centre will have a footfall well in excess of that because it is located in a catchment area right by the beach. He said that the new store has not expanded into any new verticals the existing verticals include books, music, stationery, office utilities, gift articles, music and crystal. It would also have a section exclusively for kids. An investment of Rs 4.4 crore has gone into the store, which is held on lease. Trent Ltd, a Tata group company, has a 76 per cent stake in Landmark.
