Centre working on new mineral policy

Our Bureau

Hyderabad , March 5

The Union Government will come out with a new Mineral Policy soon in order to tap the full potential of country's mineral resources and boost industrial growth using latest technology.

Addressing a press conference here on Sunday, Mr T. Subbarami Reddy, Union Minister of State for Mines, said a policy was being formulated by a committee chaired by Mr Anwar-ul- Huda, a member of the Planning Commission. It would complete the process in two months.

Replying to a question on the bauxite mining pact with the Jindal group in the north coastal agency areas, he asserted that the company was not offered any special favours.
