Nayudamma award for Pitroda

Hyderabad, March 6

Dr Sam Pitroda, Chairman, National Knowledge Commission & World Tel Ltd, will be presented the Dr Y. Nayudamma Memorial Award for 2005.

The Award, given by the Dr Y. Nayudamma Memorial Trust, Tenali, is in recognition of the outstanding contributions by a scientist/technocrat.

Dr Pitroda, considered among the key persons responsible for ushering in the telecom revolution in India as an advisor to the former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, will be delivering the 14th Dr. Y.Nayudamma Memorial Lecture on the theme "Tradition and Technology" on the occasion.

Mr K. Rosaiah, Andhra Pradesh Minister for Finance, Medical & Health, will present the award to Dr Pitroda at a special function to be held in Tenali, the native town of Dr Nayudamma on March 11, according to Mr P. Vishnu Murthy, Founder & Managing Trustee of the Nayudamma Trust.
