Nuclear deal fires up Tata Power

One of the biggest movers on Monday was Tata Power. With analysts predicting favourable tidings for the company post the signing of the nuclear deal between India and the US, investors - especially FIIs, were flocking to this counter.

The stock touched its 52-week high of Rs 592.25; it gained over 5.3 per cent on Monday and closed at Rs 576.25.

With power companies, be it generation or distribution, expected to benefit from the nuclear deal, large cap power stocks have caught the investors' fancy. Brokerages are also understood to be advising clients about generous upsides at current levels in Tata Power after the deal. Close to eight lakh shares were traded on the BSE.The stock closed at Rs 578.45 on the NSE.
