Taxation issues

Services of chartered accountants, cost accountants and company secretaries have been made taxable.

Along with these professionals, lawyers too provide tax consultancy. So how is it legal for one category of professionals to be brought under the tax net and not the other?

The clientele of CAs and cost accountants will be affected as many will shift to lawyers for tax advice because of the lower fees and the fact that no service tax is charged on them. Is this justified or constitutional?
