ONGC processing programme

ONGC will launch a high tech on-board 3D seismic data acquisition and processing programme in its offshore exploration blocks in the deep waters of Bay of Bengal and Indian Ocean from October 2006 to March 2007. The company has already awarded the $100-million contract for the project to CGG of France and Norwegian major Fugro Geoteam AS. CGG will cover a surface area of 8,600 sq. km off the Eastern Coast and Fugro will cover 5,000 sq. km of deep water area. ONGC has a number of off-shore blocks along the entire stretch of East coast. This apart the company has two deep water blocks in Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
