New Delhi , March 9 Tulip IT Services on Thursday announced the launch of a wireless virtual private network covering over 350 cities with an investment of Rs 180 crore. "TULIP CONNECT is the only network in India to offer last-mile data connectivity entirely on wireless. It would focus on providing data connectivity for banks and ATMs, connecting corporates with their branches, dealer and distribution networks across the country, stock-brokers, media companies and government agencies. A number of leading corporate and banks have already signed-up for utilising the services of TULIP CONNECT," Tulip IT Services Managing Director, Mr H.S. Bedi said at a conference here. Some of Tulip's customers include HDFC Bank, Bharti, NDPL and Tata Motors Finance. The company aims to expand the network to over 500 cities, by end of calendar year 2006. TULIP CONNECT offers managed end-to-end Multi Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) enabled network that uses wireless connectivity for the last mile. This network would provide data connectivity that is managed for uptime and bandwidth; and supported for uptimes in excess of over 99.5 per cent. By making data connectivity affordable we are making it viable for them to connect to their dealers and customers," he said.
