Wipro launches server for SMBs

Wipro Infotech launched the NetPower 110MT `Real' Server for the budget-conscious small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs). According to a study by New York-based AMI-Partners, a third of all Indian SMBs anticipate about a 20 per cent increase in annual revenues, and will boost their IT spending this year. With this server, the company expects to capitalise on the fast-growing (SMB) market. "SMBs will spend $7.7 billion on IT solutions in 2006 and grow by 26 per cent," said Mr Vaibhav Phadnis, Director , Server Business Group, Microsoft India. The server is equipped with Microsoft Windows Small Business Server and runs on AMD Opteron. NetPower is priced at Rs 42,500.
