An unsung breed

POWERFUL PERFORMER: The country is a treasure house of the Ongole cattle breed (Bos indicus) that are most suited for livestock production in the tropics for their draught power, milk and meat. The Ongole cattle is now an international breed, spread through Americas, Africa, Far-East and Australia . They take their name from the main breeding area in Ongole taluk in Andhra Pradesh's Prakasam district.
