German State of Saarland keen to expand ties

Our Bureau

Kolkata , March 10

The State of Saarland, located in the south west of Germany, is keen to expand business in India.Highlighting this, Dr Hanspeter Georgi, Minister of Economics and Labour, Saarland, said that relationships between Germany and India have developed splendidly over the course of recent decades and would grow deeper in the future.

Dr Georgi, who is heading a nine-member business delegation from Saarland, said that in the emerging international political order, the importance of Asia would continue to increase in terms of global security, of economic development and of coming to terms with global ecological challenges.

In respect of the above, India, with its unshakeable flair for innovation and its outstanding traditions of culture and democracy, would play a central role, one that extends far beyond the confines of Asia.
