Value unlocking buzz boosts GTL

Share price of telecom equipment player GTL Ltd was in the spotlight on Friday, gaining by over 13 per cent on big volumes. Dealers said investors see unlocking of substantial value following its proposed restructuring. The restructuring will create two separate entities `GTL Infrastructure Ltd' and `GTL Technology Investments Ltd'. Further, the company has huge cash on its books, making the stock an attractive investment bet, they said. On the BSE, the share prices closed at Rs 121.55, up 13.44 per cent from Thursday's close of 107.15. On the NSE, they rose 13.43 per cent to end at Rs 121.60. Over 31 lakh shares were traded on the BSE, compared to average daily volumes of just over 3 lakh shares. On the NSE, 39.79 lakh shares changed hands.
