IOPEA team on visit to Japan

With a view to capturing the market for sesameseed and groundnut, a team of the Indian Oilseeds and Produce Exporters Association (IOPEA) is currently in Japan to take part in International Food and Beverages Exhibition (Foodex) 2006 at Tokyo during March 14-17. Foodex specialises in food products from around the world. Japan is world's largest importer of sesameseed, and a significant importer of peanuts. But India lost out on this market in the last 10 years or so because of pesticide residue and other problems. IOPEA delegation comprises Mr Sanjiv Sawla, Chairman; Mr Sanjay Shah, Vice-Chairman; and Mr Pritam Satralkar, Assistant Secretary, a release said.
