Brands Munch to design clothes for European fashion brand Our Bureau
Bangalore , March 14 Munch Design Workshop has bagged a deal to design apparels for Orsay, a leading European fashion brand for women. Munch, a Bangalore-based design outsourcing company, would base its ideas and design lines on Orsay's brief and work with Wacziarg Agencies (buying agent) to convert it into a commercial product. India's increasing importance as a low-cost apparel design outsourcing hub was becoming evident from the country becoming a preferred destination for many a leading international fashion brands. Italian or French designs were not the only available option as India's rich and diverse cultural background also lent itself to its preference. The Director of Orsay, Mr Jean-Pierre Pharaon, said, "We are convinced that we have a lot to gain with having our designing done in Asia. What we have started in collaboration with Munch is in direct line with this understanding." Orsay, a 30-year-old brand has around 420 stores across eight European countries, Mr Pharaon said. Mr Karunesh Vohra, CEO and Principal Designer of Munch Design Workshop, said the extent of design work that his firm was expecting to do for Orsay was very large.
