Outlook Alliott Group scouting for Indian investments Our Bureau
Chennai , March 15 Representatives of the Alliott Group, an international network of independent consultants, accountants and lawyers, are in India on behalf of their clients scouting for partners across a range of industries. The Alliott Group is also selling the idea of Belgium, which is emerging a tax haven, as a base for Indian companies looking to expand overseas including Europe.
Biz linkages
Addressing reporters here on Wednesday, Mr Jean-Marie Leclercq of S.A. Tax Consult, an affiliate of the Alliott Group, said that they plan to facilitate business linkages including mergers and acquisitions for their clients across various industries. A sampling of the industries they represent include manufacturing, hospitality, transportation, engineering, agriculture, printing and publishing, health care, retail, advertising, chemicals, entertainment and the labour organisations, he said.
Varied clientele
As to the size of operations of their clientele, he said, it ranges from single individuals to multinational operations. But as a group their strength is in the small and medium enterprises. They are companies with the ambition and plan to grow but without the international reach to explore the options, Mr Leclercq said. What the Alliott Group can offer them is the international reach and narrow their field of search. Alliott Group's network is spread across the globe.
Opportunities
In India, of which they are optimistic regarding business opportunities, they have affiliates in major cities. The network can facilitate business links and mergers and acquisitions both ways, he said. Belgium, their own base of operations, is centrally positioned in Europe to serve as a base for others "for commerce, distributive and administrative control" for operations in Europe.
