Rubber prices unchanged

Spot rubber prices were unchanged on Wednesday. The market turned comparatively inactive lacking active buyers and sellers and the transactions were meagre. Meanwhile, sluggish overseas markets kept the sentiments neutral even amidst low arrivals.

According to sources, major manufacturers continued to keep extremely low volumes though certain companies were reported to be buying sheet rubber up to Rs 79.25 a kg since the last two days. The grade closed unchanged at Rs 79.50 and Rs 79.75 a kg, respectively at Kottayam and Kochi, as on Tuesday.

Awaiting signals

According to them, the traders were waiting for a clear signal from the international scene before making any fresh commitments.

RSS 3 weakened to Rs 90.85 from Rs 91.20 a kg at Bangkok spot.

Physical prices a kg were: RSS-4: 79.50 (79.50); RSS-5: 78.50 (78.50); ungraded: 78 (78); ISNR 20: 78.25 (78.25); and latex 60% (per litre): 56 (56).
