Hyderabad , March 15

The US State of Iowa has asked Satyam Computer Services to set up a facility there.

A high-level delegation from Iowa, headed by its Governor, Mr Tom Vilsack, visited the Satyam campus here and invited it to set up its eighth US facility in their State.

Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, Mr Vilsack and Ms Swati Dandekar, Iowa's State Representative, said there was a two-way opportunity for companies in both countries.

Ms Dandekar said Iowa offered special incentives to companies setting up bases there.

The delegation gave a presentation to a group of entrepreneurs representing different sectors, showcasing what the US State could offer to them.

The Iowa University had entered into an agreement with Osmania University four years ago to jointly conduct research in biotechnology.

Mr Craig A. Lang, President of Iowa Farm Bureau, said the farmers in his State could offer technologies and other resources with their Indian counterparts to enhance their scope and productivity.

He said the visit would be followed by more visits to further explore bilateral opportunities.
