New Products & Services Agri-Biz & Commodities - Tea Brooke Bond flavours 3 Roses Our Bureau
Chennai , March 16 In a bid to increase its share in the Rs 6,400-crore tea market, Brooke Bond (Hindustan Lever Ltd's umbrella tea brand) has introduced a natural variant of Brooke Bond 3 Roses. Mr Anand Ramachandran, Marketing Manager, Brooke Bond, said that the tea market was cluttered and there were over 1,000 varieties. The other beverages fighting for the "share of throat" are carbonated soft drinks, coffee, fruit juices, water, milk and malted drinks. He said that Hindustan Lever had a 30.6 per cent of the market share, followed by Tata Tea at 20.5 per cent. In Tamil Nadu, the company's brands have a market share of over 54 per cent led by Brooke Bond 3 Roses. He said that the new variant is in tune with the market trends, which have a leaning towards wellness, natural and connecting with one's roots. The new offering has the natural flavours of ginger, ashwaghandha, adhimadhuram, cardamom and tulsi. Mr Ramachandran said that tea used in this variant is mainly from Assam and is available in two pack sizes, a main pack of 250 gm for Rs 57 and a 100 gm pack for Rs 25.
