Bata India jumps on realty play

Bata India Ltd touched its 52-week high on Tuesday on the company's decision to develop its real estate at Batanagar in Kolkata. The shares closed at Rs 219.15, up 12.36 per cent, from Monday's Rs 195.05 (BSE). The counter also saw substantial increase in volumes at 22.53 lakh shares compared to the two-week average of 4.55 lakh (BSE). On the NSE, the shares closed at Rs 219.10, a gain of 12.19 per cent from the previous close of Rs 195.30. Over 48.76 lakh shares changed hands on the exchange.
