Birla Power plans acoustic hoods

Birla Power Solutions Ltd (BPSL), part of the Yash Birla group, proposes to manufacture acoustic hoods, which are currently being outsourced, the Group Finance Director, Mr P.V.R. Murthy, said. BPSL has embarked upon an expansion programme for increasing the capacities of existing products and is going in for backward integration to aggressively expand its market share, he told newspersons here. The company currently has a market share of 32 per cent. As a part of the Rs 50.4-crore expansion programme, it also proposes to manufacture high capacity generator sets, LPG/CNG generator sets, inverters and engines. To meet the funds requirement, the company is tapping the market with a follow on public issue of 1.2-crore equity shares of Rs 10 each at a premium of Rs 32 per share aggregating to Rs 50.4 crore.
