Opinion - Letters

Clarification

This refers to "Australian wheat to arrive in first week of April" (Business Line, March 18): The seventh paragraph of the story conveys that "the arrival of the imported wheat got delayed on account of the time taken by the STC in appointing clearing agents and transport contractors.''

The factual position is that "the responsibility for appointing the clearing agents and transport contractors is that of the FCI and not the STC. The FCI has been prompt in its tender processing to finalise these contracts and there has been no delay on this account."
