Hyderabad , March 23

Infinite Computer Solutions, a technology solutions provider, has acquired Datagrid Services, a Hyderabad-based BPO company. It plans to set up a campus in Hyderabad with an investment of $10 million.

Infinite with revenues of about $110 million (Rs 500 crore) and employing 3,500 people, of them, 2,000 based in Bangalore, sees this acquisition, which was made through cash-cum-stock deal, as helping it expand its BPO and KPO services.

The Chief Executive Officer, Infinite, Mr Upinder Zutshi, said the company plans rapid expansion to the targeted growth of $300 million in revenues by 2009. Being a self-funded company, it could potentially look to entering the capital market, a decision on this would be taken later this year.

Addressing a press conference here today along with the management of Datagrid, Mr Zutshi said Datagrid now has about 250 people with revenues of $2 million.

"We expect to grow this to a 900 people company within a year taking its revenues to about $8-10 million by the year end."

Referring to its expansion plans, Mr Zutshi said, "the company is poised to enter new markets including China and East Europe, blending the best of both onsite and offshore services capability. We are in the process of finalising plans for a campus in Hyderabad. This would come up in a six-acre site, with a built up area of 3,00,000 sq. ft, having capability to host 3,000 people."

Infinite is looking at expanding to another centre in India possibly in Pune. This would supplement our facilities in Bangalore, Hyderabad and Delhi, and three delivery centres in the US, he explained.
