Patni wins UK contract

Mumbai, March 24

Patni Computer Systems said it has signed a multi-million pound telecom contract with The Carphone Warehouse, which it described as UK's largest independent retailer of mobile communications. Patni would not specify the size of the contract. The Indian company will support the customer's delivery platform consisting of the fixed line, wireless and mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) capabilities for the pan-European market. Patni develops MVNO solutions and is extending its market leadership position in this segment from North America to Europe, said a statement from the company.
