New Projects Ahluwalia to spend Rs 200 cr on expansion Our Bureau
Mumbai , March 25 Ahluwalia Contracts (India) Pvt. Ltd (ACIL) plans to incur an expenditure of Rs 200 crore for its capital expansion projects in 2006. This amount will be funded by internal cash accruals, bank loans and private equity to purchase machinery and to meet working capital requirements. Mr Bikramjit Ahluwalia, Chairman-cum-Managing Director, told Business Line that the company was concentrating on B-cities as the land in Mumbai and Delhi was too costly. "In Mumbai, an acre of land costs about Rs 500 crore, while it is nearly Rs 100 crore in Bangalore, but it would be only around Rs 50 crore in a city like Ludhiana. Hence, we are concentrating on B-cities," he said.
Expanding exposure
The company plans to expand its exposure in real estate and infrastructure, with major projects such as SEZs, township development, commercial malls and international exhibition centres in Mumbai, Dehradun, Haryana and Kolkata.
