Kochi, March 26

Low-cost airline Air Deccan is starting two new services connecting Thiruvananthapuram to Delhi via Chennai and Mumbai via Kochi. The services will start on April 23. The airline has also said that its new Airbus 320 will be based in Thiruvananthapuram, making the city its seventh base. Air Deccan currently operates daily flights to Chennai and Bangalore from Thiruvananthapuram. "There was a lot of demand from our passengers for flights to Thiruvananthapuram which has till now been serviced only by traditional full service airlines. There is a lot of traffic in Thiruvananthapuram, especially international travellers who need low-cost air connectivity," said Capt. Gopinath, Managing Director of Air Deccan, in a statement.
