Proposals to improve coal output

A set of recommendations has been drafted by the Technical Committee here to improve production of coal in a safe and economic manner in the domestic coal mines based on detailed discussions and deliberations at the `National workshop on safe coal production in sustaining mine economics'.

The workshop was jointly organised by Singareni Collieries Company Ltd and the Director-General of Mines Safety,. In a press release here, Singareni Collieries said the workshop provided an opportunity for knowledge-based interactions among various stakeholders to chalk out a roadmap for coal production in terms of economics, safety and conservation
