Tax payments after banking hours

Mumbai , March 28

Offices of the Reserve Bank of India and other public sector banks will accept tax payments after banking hours on March 31, 2006.

RBI offices will accept cash payments for tax at the Mumbai and Navi Mumbai offices up to 4 p.m. and cheques up to 6 p.m. on March 31. Other offices of the RBI, which accept Government taxes, will also work beyond banking hours. Dena Bank branches all over the country will also accept payment of direct and indirect taxes till extended hours on March 31.Over 890 branches of commercial banks in Mumbai are authorised to receive tax payments, said a press release from RBI.
