Rise continues in silver

Mumbai, March 29

Silver prices continued to rule higher on the local bullion market on Wednesday on sustained buying interest. Gold remained steady with limited trading interest. Silver (.999 fineness) was up Rs 45 at Rs 15,755 a kg. Pure gold prices were steady at Rs 8,240 for 10 gram. Standard mint prices were steady at Rs 8,200 for 10 gm.

CHENNAI: Silver Rs 16,400 a kg; retail silver Rs 17.55 a gm; standard gold Rs 8,220 for 10 gm; ornament gold 22-carat Rs 761 a gm.
