TO HANDLE MORE: The Cochin Port Trust has initiated steps to expand the existing BTP Jetty to handle bulk cargo vessels.

The widening of the berth would ensure the availability of a full fledged berth for efficient handling of cargo.

The total estimated cost of work is to the tune of Rs 5 crore. The port also plans to increase the depth of the berth to 13 m from the present 10.7 m to receive large size ships.
