Vimala Vasan

Abu Dhabi , March 29

The World Telugu Federation, a non-profit, non-political organisation dedicated to fostering a deeper understanding of the society, culture and arts of Andhra Pradesh, will hold its seventh biennial conference in Dubai.

The conference, which will take place from April 12 to 14 at Dubai Airport Expo, will be inaugurated by Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

The inauguration will also be attended by ministers from Andhra Pradesh, according to the event organisers.

The event, last held in Bangalore in 2004, is being held for the first time in the region, said Mrs Indira Dutt, President, World Telugu Federation. "The federation has completed 14 successful years of fruitful service," she said. The three-day event will focus on promoting trade and industry opportunities, business investment and tourism in Andhra Pradesh.
