Common entrance test

At last the Tamil Nadu Government has announced that the Common Entrance Test (CET) to professional courses for the academic year 2006 would be held on May 13 and 14.

The Government could have announced the same soon after the High Court gave the verdict. It unnecessarily went in for an appeal to the Supreme Court causing more tension for students.

Even after the Supreme Court refused to stay the order of the High Court, it did not act promptly to conduct the tests.

It appears that the politicians and the Government officials are indifferent to the problems faced by the students. Anyway, the Government has acted better late than never.
