RBI to hold additional LAF today

Mumbai, March 30

The Reserve Bank of India would hold an additional Liquidity Adjustment Facility on March 31 between 9 p.m. and 9.30 p.m. The additional LAF has been put in place to facilitate funds management by banks on account of the year-end closing on March 31 falling on a reporting Friday, RBI said in a press release.

At present, RBI operates LAF to inject or absorb liquidity through daily repos and reverse repos between 9.30 a.m. 10.30 a.m and between 3 p.m. and 3.45 p.m. The features of the additional LAF would remain the same in all its operational aspects. The settlement will be conducted separately and on gross basis.
