TN Water Investment Co to expand expertise

Tamil Nadu Water Investment Company, a joint venture promoted by IL&FS and the Tamil Nadu Government, is expanding its in-house expertise in water related projects - an area in which it sees major growth in the coming years.

According to officials, the company, which promoted the Rs 960-crore New Tiruppur Area Development Corporation Ltd for handling Tiruppur's water supply and sewerage system, sees more emerging opportunities in water and wastewater treatment.

Some of the areas of interest are water treatment, supply and distribution, sewage treatment and sewerage systems, seawater and brackish water desalination, thermal evaporation systems, recycling and urban solid waste.

It has advertised to empanel experts in these areas, they said. The company is into water and infrastructure projects, where it expects lot of activity in the coming years.
