Travellers who are either call-barred or pay for both their incoming and outgoing calls can now have the ability to keep in touch via SMS.

Bangalore , March 31

The US-based Roamware has launched an SMS Roaming & Rating solution that, says the company, controls mobile roaming costs for the user while enabling network operators to maintain their revenue streams by attracting new roaming customers.

Travellers who would normally either be call-barred, or suffer the high price of paying for both their incoming and outgoing calls, can now have the ability to keep in touch via SMS. As SMS is charged at a fixed rate, roamers know exactly how much it costs them to communicate, said a release issued by the company.

The service generates more revenue for operators by opening up roaming services to users who currently cannotroam with their mobile.
