72 cos attend NELP-VI road show in Houston

The road show for the sixth round of the New Exploration Licensing Policy (NELP VI) held in Houston, US, attracted 72 international companies including 32 exploration and production (E&P). The major companies, which participated, include ExxonMobil, Chevron Texaco, Conoco Phillip, BHP (Australia), Anadarco, Shell, BG, Cairn Energy, Occidental, Geoglobal Resources (Canada), Western Geophysical, GS Technologies, Marathon and Seata Resources.

According to an official release, many companies have already booked data at the Houston Data Centre for NELP-VI. The road show was kicked off by the Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Mr Murli Deora, in Houston.

The Minister has called upon the US companies to make use of the attractive investment opportunity provided by India in the form of 55 exploration blocks offered for global bidding under sixth round of NELP-VI.
