Bangalore , March 31

PPC Worldwide, the US-based company providing Employee Assistance Programme (EAP), today announced the opening of its operations in India.

The company will have 15 experts in allied areas, including clinical psychology to offer EAP to its clients. It hopes to double the strength in six months.

With changing lifestyle and pressure at workplaces, particularly demands made in the IT industry and financial services sector, employees often face problems affecting productivity and leading to absenteeism.

EAP of PPC Worldwide provides 24/7 counselling support and information help-lines to employees through its locations in Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai and Hyderabad, Ms Anna Oldman, Chief Operating Officer (India), told presspersons here today.

Citing a survey, she said that 90 per cent of employees admit that during times of worry their work is negatively impacted by an average of nearly 20 per cent and, in some cases, considerably more.

PPC Worldwide founder and CEO, Mr Carl Tisone, said the company had already signed up three clients - Ness Technologies, Aspect Technology Centre and the British Government's Department for International Development.
