Logistics - Railways

On corporation track

The Pakistan Government is working on a scheme to turn its Railways into a corporation. The county's Minister for Railways has been quoted as saying that initial work has been completed. Only certain issues are yet to be sorted out between the federal and the provincial governments. The Bill to make Pakistan Railways a state-owned corporation will be placed before the National Assembly in due course. PR is now paying a lot of emphasis on safety and fast transportation of passengers; also, the move is afoot for technological upgradation of the railway systems.
