The Coconut Development Board (CDB) has announced the national awards for best processors, development workers etc, during its silver jubilee celebrations held at Pitapally in Orissa recently.

According to an official press release here, the award for best coconut processors (conventional coconut products) was bagged by Kerala Malanad Karshaka Produce Cooperative Marketing Society Ltd, Kozhikode, while that for best processor (non-conventional products) was shared by Jain Agro Food Products (P) Ltd, Somanhalli Industrial Area, Maddur Taluk, Mandya, Karnataka and Shriram Coconut Products Ltd, Batlagundu, Tamil Nadu.

The Best Co-operative Society/NGO award was shared by Kasaragod Cooperative Marketing and Processing Society Ltd, Kasargode and Subicsha Coconut Producers Company Ltd, Perambra, Kozhikode, Kerala.

The award for best development worker in the field for coconut development was shared by Mr T.S. Viswan, Karikkad, Thannermukkom, Kerala and Mr R.M. Subramanian, Agriculture Development Officer, Uthukkuli, Erode district, Tamil Nadu.
