IIFT to offer MBA course in Kolkata

The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) would offer postgraduate management programme at its new Kolkata centre this academic year.

Moreover, for the small and medium enterprises (SME) segment, it would set up an SME centre.

The Delhi-based IIFT recorded an average annual domestic salary of Rs 8.1 lakh this year compared to Rs 7.28 lakh last year. The IIFT is having its annual convocation on April 5, which would be addressed by the Commerce Minister, Mr Kamal Nath, and the Commerce Secretary, Mr S.N. Menon, an official release said. On the very first day of the placement week this year, the entire batch was placed, with a record high annual domestic salary and international salary of Rs 10.55 lakh and $100,000 respectively, it added. Different sectors such as FMCG, banking, consultancy, IT, pharmaceuticals, trading and logistics participated in the recruitment drive. To address the growing demand for international business education, IIFT is setting up another centre at Kolkata.
