Esskay handles 5.24 mt

Visakhapatnam , April 3

Esskay Shipping (P) Ltd has handled 5.24 million tonnes at the Visakhapatnam port during 2005-2006, according to a press release issued by the company.

During the year, 55.8 mt of cargo was handled at the port, the highest in the history of any Indian port.

During the past three years, Esskay had handled more than 13.5 mt, establishing new records. The company is presently augmenting its fleet and equipment during the current year in a bit to improve its performance further, adds the release.

Over the past decade, the Esskay has handled more than 3,000 vessels of its principals at the ports of Visakhapatnam, Kakinada, Chennai and Tuticorin. The company is expanding the agency services network to all the ports.
