Maritime Day celebrations

Mangalore, April 3

The 43rd National Maritime Day will be celebrated at New Mangalore Port Trust (NMPT) on April 5. A National Maritime Day Celebration Committee release said on Monday that the objective of celebrating the Maritime Day is to enable the public to know more about the activities of the Indian shipping industry and its role in the economy of the country. Mr K.S. Suresh Babu, Inspector General of Police, Western Range, Mangalore, will release the merchant navy flag for sale on the occasion. Mr P. Tamilvanan, NMPT Chairman, will preside over the function, the release added.
