Reliance Petro: Global majors eye tie-ups

Our Bureau

Mumbai, April 3

Reliance Industries Ltd told the stock exchanges here on Monday that several international industry majors have approached the company for a tie-up with Reliance Petroleum Ltd (RPL).

The company has been in discussions with them but no decision has been made in this regard, the statement said. The discussions cover several proposals, including tie-up on technical support, supply of crude oil/raw material and purchase of finished goods.

"All these proposals were under discussion and if and when a decision is made, the company/RPL will make necessary disclosures and seek regulatory approvals if required," it said.

Some industry majors have also shown interest in acquiring minority equity stake in RPL either through fresh issue of equity shares by RPL or through sale of part of RPL equity shares held by the company, the RIL release said.
