Gujarat Ambuja Cements Ltd has reported a 13 per cent growth in despatches for March. Cement despatches for the month stood at 13.29 lakh tonnes, up from 11.79 lakh tonnes in March 2005. Production of cement increased by 12 per cent, amounting to 13.33 lakh tonnes, up from 11.85 lakh tonnes. Despatches from Ambuja Cement Eastern Ltd have also grown by 23 per cent, recorded at 2.18 lakh tonnes (1.77 lakh tonnes). Production recorded at 2 lakh tonnes was up from 1.73 lakh tonnes, an increase of 16 per cent.
